Problems That Can Affect Electrical Panels

If you are experiencing recurring electrical problems, don’t hesitate to contact our experts for immediate help. We will inspect your system for circuit or wiring problems.

Common signs of trouble in the electrical panel include:

Frequently tripped circuit breakers

Circuit breakers are designed to trip whenever a power surge occurs. But if your breakers seem to be tripping on a frequent basis, this could signal an underlying issue with your electrical system and will require immediate attention.

Hot circuit breakers

It’s normal for circuit breakers to feel warm, but not hot to the touch. Hot circuit breakers are usually accompanied by crackling or buzzing noises. This problem is typically caused by loose connections between the breaker and wires, or a damaged bus bar.

Flickering or dimming lights

Noticing that your lights flicker or dim when a large appliance starts running, or when your AC turns on and off? There is likely a wiring problem that may call for an electrical upgrade.

Installing a New Appliance? Your Electrical Panel May Need an Upgrade

Electrical panels in older homes will likely only have the minimum amperage required, which is 100 amps. For residential properties, 100 or 150 amps are typically enough to power the appliances and devices in most homes.

However, if you are planning on installing heavy-duty appliances such as tankless water heaters or even electric vehicle charging stations, it will be necessary to upgrade your electrical panel to increase the available amperage. You may also want to consider upgrading your electrical panel if you plan to add new rooms to your home.

Our experts will take the time to discuss your specific concerns, and make sure you receive the solution that works best for your home and your household’s needs.

Top Tech’s electrician Casey was professional, friendly, and efficient. He expertly diagnosed our issue as a faulty light switch, and replaced the switch in a few minutes. We contacted Top Tech late in the day, and by the next morning our issue was resolved satisfactorily at a reasonable price. We will use this company anytime we have an electrical issue. Great service!

Old house with weird things going on. Ac quit working but also when you turned the thermostat on or off, You would lose the power to TV, lights, Oxygen concentrator, a lot of stuff. Do the opposite everything flickered , then came back on. But no AC in Texas hot weather with major health problems. Bobby came, explained what was needed. How much it cost. Gave options. Bobby the one that gave a quote after a thorough inspection ! Then Bobby & Allen( sorry if I misspelled the name. )Installed everything the same day ! Brought house up to code & worked very hard ! Now AC cold as a cucumber , electric no longer has a mind of it's own, nor is it a fire hazard! Thanks guys & office staff! Have a Blessed weekend !

If I could give 10 stars for Top Tech - and specifically for electrician David Gandara - I would. Truly exceptional service from start to finish. Polite, knowledgeable, transparent, friendly, you name it and David was spot on.Was it a bit pricey, sure - but worth every penny. We had a circuit breaker that tripped and wouldn’t reset. David meticulously tracked down the source of the problem all the while explaining exactly what he was doing and looking for. You get what you pay for and their quick and professional service was complexly worth it.
